                                                    Misiwe Ni Relations

                                                    Healing  Lodge

                                                    Red Stone Snake Woman Medicine.

Jenny is a proud member of Moose Cree First Nation, the Mosoniy-Illilew and Mushkegowuk territory. She is an Honours BA in Psychology and Masters in Social Work graduate. She spent the beginning of her career as a registered psychotherapist servicing the foster youth of Connor Homes. During this time, she developed and continues to coordinate the Indigenous Treatment Program that aims to ensure youth receive access to their culture and traditions, elders and traditional healers. Through a passion to develop this training, Jenny evolved into a Truth and Reconciliation specialist, and it is through this work that she laid the foundation for Misiwe. May we come together to understand Truth and work at Reconciling our differences for the betterment of healing and harmony for All.

During this time, Jenny began her own reconnection with traditional ceremonies and elders whom mentor much of the work she does. She apprentices under the Algonquin Medicine Man Pete Bernard with whom she owes much of her own healing and spiritual growth.

Her greatest guides come from the Land, and she is always happy to share what she has learned through different workshops that she helps to facilitate at the Lodge. As a healer, Jenny uses a combination of energy work with the tools she developed as a psychotherapist.

Melissa Rai

Melissa has been exploring the diverse practice of Yoga for many years, but as the Universe would have it, one day (while going through a particularly challenging breakup) she decided to try a Kundalini Yoga class. It was love at first Sat Nam.

“Through breath, movement and going within I began to come home to myself.”

After much encouraging from her teacher Melissa received her Kundalini Yoga Teacher certification in 2008. A few years later in 2011, after meeting teacher and “Soul Whisperer” Wendy Eaton, Melissa received her Restorative Yoga: Foundations certification. Many Moons  would pass before she would meet Wise Teacher and Medicine Woman Kim Wolf, owner of Medicine Bird studios, where she would complete her 200hr Hatha Yoga certification with an emphasis on Forrest Yoga concepts.

A free Spirited lover of life and self proclaimed nomad, Melissa travels and teaches in Sayulita, Mexico each winter sharing the practice of Kundalini Yoga and Meditation with other fellow wanderers. With a passion for dance and movement as meditation she also facilitates ecstatic dance classes as well as New & Full Moon Yoga/Dance celebrations honoring the symbolic energies and natural cycles of Nature that reflect within ourselves.

In her own words: “On my mat is where the Magic happens. And by Magic I mean working through my s**t!” I am personally drawn to Yoga Styles that offer me a chance to be challenged yet compassionate with myself, when I meet her on the mat. While Kundalini is my first love, all the styles I have been called to teach, have helped me in their own beautiful way, to heal, deeply; through strength, beauty, trust and above all truth, within myself.”

Melissa encourages students to be inquisitive and to dig a little deeper within their practice. Her classes are infused with intuitive hands on assists and she believes that creativity, passion, laughter & play are power tools for life and qualities she brings to each of her classes. She hopes you will too!

Here is a description of some of healing services offered.

Shamanism is the oldest form of healing on the planet. It is an Earth-based form of healing that was taught to the First Peoples by the trees, plants, animals, and the Stars. All of nature was our teacher, and we were taught how to work with it. It is the Consciousness of the Universe and all life, and it invites us to develop a relationship with it for our healing and the healing of others.

Reiki is a Japanese word, and come from two parts. Rei which means “God Consciousness” and Ki which means “energy”. Reiki literally is universally directed energy that comes from Creator. It has its own intelligence, and knows where to go and what to do, and what needs healing

Kundalini Yoga derives its name through a focus on awakening kundalini energy through regular practice of meditation, pranayama, chanting mantra and yoga asana Called "the yoga of awareness", it aims "to cultivate the creative spiritual potential of a human to uphold values, speak truth, and focus on the compassion and consciousness needed to serve and heal other."

Yin yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga with asanas that are held for longer periods of time and apply moderate stress to the connective tissues of the body with the aim of increasing circulation in the joints and improving flexibility. A more meditative approach to yoga, yin aims at cultivating awareness of inner silence, and bringing to light a universal, interconnecting quality.

Ecstatic Dance is a way to gather as a tribe and practice dance to rhythm and sounds aimed at inspiring the Spirit to freely move and express itself.

Drumming Circles are a way of coming together and forming a sacred circle of equality and interconnection. We honour our Earth mother by drumming to the beat of her heart, and by sharing in her rhythm and with the goal of getting in tune with each other to form a group consciousness.

Hi. My name is Chantal Ouellette.  I was introduced to yoga over 16 years ago.  After attending my first class I was hooked. Practising yoga has calmed my mind, strengthened my body and fed my soul.  Yoga meets you where you are and accepts you in all your forms. This is what I share with my students. I enjoy teaching Yin, Restorative and Hot Stone Restorative yoga.  I am also a registered Early Childhood Educator and enjoy teaching yoga to children. Although I teach and practice at home, I also attend yoga classes around the city. I simply cannot get enough.  Find your breath, balance and relaxation during a group or private practice.

I can be reached at or follow me on facebook at CO Yoga.  I look forward to connecting with you.

Melanie Berndt

Namaste! (The spirit in me, honors the spirit in you)
My name is Melanie ( I prefer Mel!). I am passionate about yoga and holistic wellness and have been a student of yoga for over 15 years...and still counting!
I graduated as an EYT Yoga teacher in May 2016 and have been teaching a variety of yoga classes since then!

As a former Registered Massage Therapist (R.M.T.), my practice was centered around providing therapeutic massage therapy and energy work to clients of all ages based on individual goals and needs. I understand and value massage as a holistic approach and incorporate these values when teaching and working with clients.

I have always been dedicated to helping others and I truly believe that when we support another to be successful (no matter how big or in what area of their life), we are also helping ourselves to cultivate a deeper connection to humanity; to recognize and empower our own self worth; as well as teaching (by modelling or leading by example) our children the importance of compassion, kindness, empathy to all living beings.

Mel offers Blue Skies weekly Hatha, Yin, Restorative and Yoga Nidra classes. These classes incorporate postures for strength and flexibility; mindfulness and the calming of the breath; and the integration of connection and relaxation of body and mind in a supportive and safe space. They help our clients to tune in and connect with all aspects of Being (body, mind, spirit) while blissfully resting in restorative poses that allow the letting go (of that which no longer serves you) while receiving the nurturing touch of massage, the therapeutic benefits of 100% pure essential oils and the healing vibrations of sound. Her unique classes assist to balance emotional states, and facilitate visualization and self-healing.
